Travel Beauty & Skin Care
As someone who loves beauty and skin care, I do not let my morning and evening skin care regimes slip when I’m overseas. On long overseas trips, I still ensure I have my key products with me and I ALWAYS lather on the SPF.
In fact, protecting my skin against the sun’s harmful rays has become of paramount importance as I’ve got older. However, unfortunately, some of the damage is done. Especially to my face which has led me to develop melasma, which is permanently darkened patches of skin. I find them unsightly as they darken with sun exposure, leaving me to patchy skin tones.
Fortunately, there are products out there to help with uneven skin tone and I’ve tried ALL of them. No really.
And the very products to be found anywhere is Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Range which can be bought in several places, including Harrods and Selfridges. It’s certainly a premium product but most importantly, it really delivers results. I use the full range of items, but if you had to choose one, I’d opt for the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. It rescues the melasma that appears on my skin following a trip in days and has been a total game changer for my confidence.
Another excellent brand, but slightly more expensive is Caudalie. And I highly recommend the serum I’ve included above too.
For sun protection, I never step out of the house without at least factor 50 on these days. It’s not worth the risk, plus my skin actually still gets a bit of colour.
In terms of other essential products for my skin, I use La Roche Posay’s Retinol 0.3% serum, which is perfect for sensitive skin. You only need to use it a couple of times a week but it targets fine links and wrinkles.
Finally, for fake tanning – I swear by the St Tropez Purity Serum drops for my face, and the for my body.
