      Hi Dave,

I think the normal one is fine and amazing value! Depends if the add-ons for VIP are something you want I guess..

Hi Kim! Thanks so much. The two most expensive things was the three day sailing trip (€300) and the activities in Cappadocia (hot air ballooning was €100). I think the paragliding in Oludeniz was also €100. That side, accommodation and flights/transport was really inexpensive. I’d say all in, I spent €1200 including flights to/from London. You could easily spend less than this if you do less activities in each place, but for me, they were just must-dos. All the accommodation I stayed in was comfortable and great value. Hope that’s helpful!

    Hi
I have been looking at going to the Philippines for some time now and have read numerous blogs and have found your post to be so informative and probably the best I have read. I have been planning a route for a while which I need to fit into a 2 week holiday as my son is at secondary school, I want to fit in Boracay, El Nido and Bohol and was wondering if it is practical to fit both Boracay and El nido into a 2 week itinerary? and how to travel between the 2.

My trip that I have planned is flying from the UK to Manila and getting a connecting flight to Cebu or El Nido/Puerto Princessa and taking everything from there. So roughly

Day 1 to 5 El Nido, Day 6 Puerto Princesa (see the underground river caves) continue to Cebu, Day 7 Cebu to Bohol spend 2 nights on Bohol, Day 9 to 14 Boracay is this possible

Hi Scott! Thanks for your message and so glad to hear you find the posts helpful 🙂

That sounds like an awesome route – it’s essentially my itinerary in the opposite order. There are direct flights on AirSwift between Cebu and El Nido – but you need to check their site for the dates you’re planning and make sure it is running 🙂 You can also fly from El Nido to Boracay on AirSwift too.

I think your itinerary sounds great – you could potentially add another day to Bohol and do 1 less in Boracay. Bohol you can do the full day tour to Chocolate Hills etc, a full day boat trip and I highly recommend visiting Bohol Bee Farm (or staying there too). I have a detailed post on the farm and on Bohol.

A final thought to consider is that I believe you can also fly to Cebu on Emirates via Dubai and Cathay via Hong Kong, which would speed up your itinerary slightly if you don’t want to spend time in Manila.

      Hope this is helpful!

      Best,
      Claire

Is it safe to travel in Sabah to see the Orangutans? I see there are several travel warnings out for Sabah. We are planning a trip in June 2024

Hello, I read your details about Victoria falls and they are very useful. Could you please tell me if in winter time (we are going to be there at the end of August, in a couple of weeks) the Devil’s Pools and the White Water Rafting are fine or whether the water is too cold? Do you remember if upon arrival by plane at Victoria Falls Airport it is possible to see the Falls from the Plane, do you remember from which side : )
    Thanks a lot

Hi again, could you please tell me if the safari to Chobe is worth the trip if I have only one day? So getting there in the morning and returning in the afternoon? Is it worth the money?

Hi Claire, I’m going to Ghana for a month, in November, and am trying to figure out if the Yapei Queen ferry from Akosombo to Yeji is operating. Do you have any contacts in Ghana who might be able to tell me, please? I’ve tried to contact the ferry company, to no avail. Thank you. I love your style.

    Hi there
Ken and I are visiting turkey from early april for 2.5 weeks.?when were you there?
reading your blog suggests that the weather will be cooler, so I think beaches and sailing trips are not goint to be that good.
we are starting from SA , so fly directly to Istanbul. I think well say there for three days and one at the end to fly home.
Would that work? wde are 70 but very walking fit and healthy. My husband is a keen photographer.
    thank you.

    Hi there,

I first want to say I really enjoyed your blog about Morocco. I and a cousin are confirming details for our trip there this April. However, I was wondering if you’d mind sharing exactly which tour group you used for your desert trip from Marrakech? It’s been a bit difficult to settle on which agency we should use and your trip sounded great.

    Thanks,
    Candace

Hi, I enjoy your site and travels. I am planning a bike and boat trip out of Bodrum, Turkey, with my friends, and we want to do a side trip up to Ephesus. I read your blog on using public transportation, however, I can’t seem to find a bus company that goes from Bodrum to Ephesus or any of the surrounding towns. Do you have any suggestions? It would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Dennis

Yes – you can hire a car at Joburg airport and drive into/through Kruger. You pay regular entry fees for an international traveller. Hope that helps
