Hey, I’m Claire — and I’m completely, unapologetically obsessed with travel.

Born and raised in Brighton, I grew up with the sea on my doorstep and a serious case of wanderlust from an early age. My first taste of real adventure came at 18 — a spontaneous trip through Thailand, Laos and Burma that absolutely hooked me. I never really looked back.

Since then, I’ve made it to over 75 countries and counting. I’ve backpacked solo through the Outback, explored West Africa during 6 months at the University of Ghana, spent a year living in Melbourne, and taken two incredible trips through Vietnam and China with my Dad. Some of my favourite memories have been made in the most unexpected places.

These days, my travel looks a little different. I’m a new mum — my little boy joined us in December 2025 and has already made the world feel even bigger and more worth exploring. My husband and I are figuring out this new chapter together, and honestly, it’s made me even more determined to show our son the world.

By day, I work in travel marketing, where I’ve spent nearly a decade working with some incredible names in travel and hospitality, from Holland America Line and Seabourn to Visit Sweden, Morocco Tourism Board and Blue Lagoon Iceland. It means I get to see behind the curtain of the travel industry in a way most bloggers don’t — and I like to think that filters into everything I write here.

What you’ll find on Stoked to Travel

This blog is for people like me — those who work full time, have real lives and real budgets, but refuse to let that stop them from seeing the world. Most of my itineraries run from one to three weeks, built around annual leave and long weekends, because that’s the reality for most of us.

My travel style has evolved over the years. The 20-bed dorm days are firmly behind me — I travel in comfort now, somewhere in the mid-range to luxury end of the scale depending on where I am and who I’m with. I still love an adventure, but these days it’s more relaxed hiking and being out on the water than bungee jumping and skydiving (although I’ve done those too!).

I’m fluent in French and Spanish, which has opened up some wonderful doors on my travels, and I hold a BA in International Development from the University of Leeds. I don’t like to skim the surface of a destination — you’ll often find me returning to the same place just to see a little bit more.

Come and explore — and feel free to say hello on Instagram or drop me an email. I’d love to hear from you.
