Review: Staying at the Jumeirah Mallorca in Port de Sóller

I recently spent the most gorgeous spring weekend in Mallorca on a Jet2holidays Indulgent Escape and it was absolutely perfect. The hotel of choice was the Jumeirah and what an incredible stay it was!

After a very smooth and comfortable journey with Jet2, we arrived by private transfer to the Jumeirah. Our three night stay was near impeccable so here’s my review of the Jumeirah Mallorca hotel.

Disclaimer: This was a gifted trip with Jet2holidays, however as always, my review is entirely honest and my own opinion.

Overview

Jumeirah is a luxury hotel brand from the Middle East, with headquarters in Dubai. Some of the most famous hotels in the group include the iconic Burj Al Arab (the 7* hotel shaped as a sail in Dubai), as well as the brand new Marsa Al Arab next door, which opened in March 2025.

Jumeirah has long been associated with the highest quality experiences, as well as world-class Emirati inspired service. They only have a handful of hotels in Europe – this one in Mallorca, another in Capri and two in London. So staying at Jumeirah Mallorca is a fantastic way to experience some of the best hospitality, without having to fly to the Middle East.

I was very excited to see the Jumeirah Mallorca in Jet2holiday’s Indulgent Escapes portfolio. Not only was I very keen on staying in a Jumeirah property, but I hadn’t been back to Sóller in Mallorca since 2007. So I was excited by the prospect of returning to see if the town was as I remembered it from 18 years ago!

Location

The Jumeirah property is situated on the eastern side of Port de Sóller. Perched high up on the cliff, the hotel overlooks the horseshoe shaped harbour and beach. To one side are the towering Tramuntana Mountains, and to the other, the dazzling blues of the Balearic Sea stretch out into the horizon. The hotel has been cleverly designed to showcase the views at every angle. And you’ll find that throughout the property, the architect has crafted natural frames with the buildings design to draw your eye to the majestic surroundings.

As the hotel is located high above the town, Jumeirah offers a scheduled shuttle up and down to the port throughout the day. We never actually ended up using it, as we rather enjoyed the 10-minute walk down to the port. But it is very steep on the journey back up. Especially after a big evening meal!

Review of Jumeirah Mallorca

First impressions

We arrived after dark, so it wasn’t until the next morning when we pressed the button to open our curtains (electronically operated, of course), that we had a first glimpse of the view.

Honestly, just WOW. Our floor to ceiling windows framed the incredible views of the mountains and the colours were just so vivid. It was like watching a piece of art appear at the end of our bed. Normally, I’d opt for a seaview room, and whilst those views are also exceptional at the Jumeirah, the mountain view was staggering.

And the majority of the hotel’s public spaces are facing the sea, such as at breakfast, so it was lovely to wake up to this beautiful mountain view. Also, the sunrise came up behind the mountains and bathed our balcony terrace in gorgeous morning warmth. Coffee here each morning was just magical!

Our room

When we managed to tear ourselves away from the incredible terrace and its magnificent view, we most definitely enjoyed the space and comfort offered in our Premium Room.

The bathroom was really spacious and had one of the best hotel showers I’ve experienced. I loved the locally made products and my hair was so fragrant each day!

We also liked our living room area and made plenty of coffees with the Nespresso machine.

Our only gripe about the room was that quite a few of the TV channels didn’t work. Not that we were there to watch TV, but it would have been nice to watch something as we got ready to go out for dinner in the evening.

Facilities at the hotel

The pools and spa

One of the key draws at this hotel is without doubt its three swimming pools. All three are heated in the cooler months, making them a perfect temperature to enjoy even on a spring weekend getaway like ours.

The main hotel pool, which is also family friendly, is located just in front of Cap Roig, the main restaurant. There are plenty of sun beds, and the most fantastic sea views from wherever you sit.

At the very top of the hotel is the adults-only infinity pool, also lined with plenty of sun beds.

Both pools have lifeguards throughout the day, as well as food and drink service at the click of a button next to your sun lounger.

The other pool is also adults-only and is located within the Talise Spa. Unlike other luxury hotels, the spa facilities are open to all, whether or not you’re having a spa treatment. This pool is actually a hydrotherapy pool and beautifully warm. Set against the Tramuntana Mountains, this has to be one of the most beautiful pools in the whole of Europe. Inside the main spa area is plenty of water and fruit, and either side are several of sun loungers. It was a complete sun trap here and got very toasty even in our 17°C March days!

Aside from the pools and the Talise Spa, there is also an impressive gym open 24/7, as well as 5 restaurants and bars. For those travelling with young ones, there is a kid’s club for those aged 3-12 years.

Food and drink

I’m going to start with the breakfast, as it was utterly incredible. There is a large indoor seated area, but where you really want to have breakfast is out on the terrace. I really don’t know if any words can do this setting justice. I’ll just let my pictures below do the talking.

The buffet offering was extensive. Plenty of fresh fruit, homemade granola and lemon/coconut muesli, as well as locally made preserves, including the most delicious marmalade made from the famous Sóller oranges. The fresh section had a huge range of hams, cheeses, excellent quality salmon, as well as a vast salad bar. There was also a decadent sweets section, as well as dried fruits and nuts. Everyone must try the homemade ensaimada pastries too, which are only made in Mallorca. Apparently you can’t even make these off the island as they say it’s the Mallorcan sea air that makes the dough rise in a certain way!

There is also a hot section, a fresh juice section and champagne for morning mimosas, if that’s your style.

Finally, there is also an a la carte menu. Initially, I had the goal of trying everything on the menu, but after trying the ‘Mallorcan Toast Eggs’ (called Tostada de Huevo a la Mallorquina) on the first day, I couldn’t deviate. The dish is two poached eggs, on top of Mahon cheese and local pork sobresada on toasted sourdough bread, with a hollandaise sauce. Sometimes I added extra jamón. Gosh, I could eat it again and again.

On the final morning, I managed another course from the a la carte menu and ordered the churros. I was absolutely stuffed afterwards, but they looked too good to miss.

We also enjoyed room service on the first night as we arrived at about 8.30pm. For some reason, a holiday always starts with a Club Sandwich for me, and so that’s what I had, and Greg had a wagyu burger. Both were delicious but a bit on the small (and expensive) side.

The Sunset Lounge, which requires reservations and is open to external guests, is one of the best spots on the island for drinks and the finest Peruvian Nikkei cuisine. Then there is Cap Roig, the breakfast restaurant, which also serves excellent a la carte lunch and dinner. Both pools have food and drink menus, and there is also Es Fanals, which is one of the most exquisite restaurants on the whole island. Again, this restaurant is open to external hotel guests. It was closed during our stay as we visited too early in the season (opens 15th May).

Port de Sóller has dozens of local cafes and restaurants to try, which is great if you fancy eating outside of the hotel during your stay.

The staff and service

The staff are exemplary at the hotel, just as you’d expect. From the greeting on arrival, to all the staff around the hotel. Despite being part of such a luxury hotel group, the property wasn’t stuffy or uptight. In fact, everyone was incredibly relaxed and warm. You’re also given the QR code for the e-butler service, which is run through WhatsApp and available 24/7.

The Verdict

Overall, it was an incredible weekend stay. Between the view from our room, the extensive breakfast and the dazzling pools, it goes up there as one of our best hotel stays ever.

I would love to return so I can experience the highly recommended Es Fanals restaurant. And although we explored the local area well over the course of the weekend, I’d love to go back to do more hiking! If helpful, I’ve written a guide to Sóller and Port de Sóller here.

Review of Jumeirah Mallorca

I hope my review of Jumeirah Mallorca has been useful. Feel free to ask any further questions below if there’s something I haven’t covered. I’d also love if you shared this post on any of the below links!

As noted, we booked this stay using Jet2holiday’s Indulgent Escapes offering. This means that they took care of flights, luxury private transfers and the hotel stay. They also include a few extra touches such as in-flight drinks and vouchers to spend in-flight on Duty Free. Make sure to check out my full experience of Jet2holidays here.
