Whether it’s for a first date, a second date or another date with your long term partner, there are a huge number of romantic things to do in Miami. In fact, I think it’s one of the most romantic places in the United States!
So, I’ve decided to put together a guide suggesting some of my best date ideas in Miami, from special dining, bike rides and picnics, to blow-the-budget cruises on Key Biscayne.
So read on to find out more:
Best Date Ideas in Miami
Dinner along Española Way
It’s no surprise I’m suggesting Española Way, as it’s one of my favourite areas of Miami.
Española Way is a historic, tree-lined, pedestrian-only street in South Beach which is famous for its Spanish and French Mediterranean-style architecture which dates back to the 1920s. Together with charming cobblestone paths, twinkling fairy lights and plenty of live music, it’s one of the most romantic places in Miami.
The restaurants are mostly Spanish, Italian and Cuban, with my favourite being Mercato della Pescheria, serving up some of the best Italian food in Miami!

Bike ride and picnic in Key Biscayne
Another of my favourite areas in Miami is Key Biscayne, which is an island paradise town set against the backdrop of Downtown Miami.
Head to Crandon Blvd by bus, car or Uber and pop into one of the many bike rental stores. Either bring a picnic with you, or head to one of the local bakeries or coffee shops to pick up some delicious bits for a picnic. I suggest either La Boulangerie Boul’Mich or Flour and Weirdoughs for some tasty homemade bites.
You can go from Crandon Blvd towards Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park to spend the day winding around its cycling paths and stopping at pristine beaches.

Romantic Spa Day
There’s really no shortage of fantastic hotels in Miami beach offering exceptional spa days, and it can certainly be difficult to choose.
My pick is for the Lapis Spa at the Fontainebleau on Miami Beach. The spa is spread over a huge 40,000 sq ft and has mineral pools, rain tunnels, eucaplyptus steam rooms and jet baths. As a day guest, you also receive access to the main swimming pool, the beach and the gym for the day.
Treatments per person start from around $200.
Alternatively, there is the Ondara Spa at Andaz Miami Beach, which is another option for a relaxing spa day. They have some great treatments, including the Hydra Essence facials.

Tropical fruit wine tasting
Another great idea for a romantic day out in Miami is to visit Schnebly’s Winery, down near Homestead in South Miami. This unique location makes wines from tropical fruits, including mango, lychee, guava, coconut and avocado, and provides a variety of different experiences. You can do a walking tour, visit the onsite brewery to sample craft beers, enjoy a picnic or pair your wine with a delicious charcuterie board.
It’s a beautiful place for a day date, but do check for evening events too.

Enjoy a private helicopter or airplane tour
There’s no doubt that seeing Miami from the sky is incredible, and a private tour is the way to go. Whether you opt for a helicopter or small place, the experience is guaranteed to be amazing.
Here are a few options:
- South Beach Private Airplane Tour with Drinks (from £74 per person)
- Romantic Sunset Flight with Champagne (from £111 per person)
- Private Helicopter Tour at Sunset (from £239 per person)
Sunset cruise around Biscayne Bay
Is there anything more romantic than sailing across the azure waters of Biscayne Bay as the sun sets across Miami?
A sunset cruise is one of the most romantic things to do in Miami, and with complimentary wine, beer and canapés, there’s no better way to spend an evening.
Book your boat tour here:
- Exclusive Private Boat Guided Tour (£190 for private boat)
- Champagne City Lights Boat Tour + Photoshoot (Semi Private) (from £81 per person)
- Sunset Cruise with Celebrity Homes & Open Bar (from £51 per person)

Adults-Only Pool Cabana at Loews Miami Beach
Why not enjoy a romantic date day at an exclusive Adults-Only SOAK Cabana at the Loews Miami Beach hotel?
These poolside cabanas have a covered private seating area with two lounge chairs and a round daybed. There is even a safe!
The experience includes a dedicated concierge who’s on hand to help you with anything you need, including bottle service and full food and beverage service.

Kayak and Champagne Toast
For a slightly more unusual date idea in Miami, why not join this kayaking tour?
Departing from historic Collins Canal, you might be able to spot herons, iguanas and of course, plenty of fish from your clear-bottom kayak. After the tour, you’ll finish up on a stunning, uninhabited island near to Millionaire’s Row where you can enjoy spectacular views across to Miami’s skyline.

Romantic date ideas in Miami

So that’s my guide to the most romantic things to do in Miami. As you may have gathered, I think the city is perfect for dates with reliable weather and beautiful places all across the destination. If you’re looking for a really romantic hotel in Miami, then I’d recommend the National Hotel, which is an adults-only hotel in Miami Beach. I loved staying here and the pool is incredible!
