Whether it’s for a first date, a second date or another date with your long term partner, there are a huge number of romantic things to do in Miami. I’ve decided to put together a guide suggesting 8 of my best date ideas in Miami, from special dining, bike rides and picnics, to blow to the budget cruises on Key Biscayne.
So read on to find out more:
Best Date Ideas in Miami
Dinner along Espanola Way
It’s no surprise I’m suggesting Espanola Way, as it’s one of my favourite areas of Miami. I’ve always ensured it’s included in my other Miami guides, for example, the best neighbourhoods in Miami and a long weekend itinerary for Miami.
This Hispanic quarter has to be one of the most romantic places in Miami, with twinkling fairy lights criss-crossing this pedestrianised street. From the live music to the passionate flamenco dancers in the street, it’s the perfect location for a romantic date in Miami.
My favourite restaurant is Tapas y Tintos, serving us some of the best tapas, paella and sangria in Miami!
Bike ride and picnic in Key Biscayne
Another of my favourite areas in Miami, Key Biscayne is a tropical island paradise set with the backdrop of Downtown Miami.
Head to Crandon Blvd by bus, car or Uber and head to one of the many bike rental stores. Either bring a picnic from home with all your favourite bits, or head to one of the local bakeries or coffee shops to pick up some delicious bits for a picnic. I suggest either The Corner Coffee & Pantry, or La Boulangerie Boul’Mich for some tasty homemade bites.
Head from Crandon Blvd towards Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park to spend the day winding around its cycling paths and stopping at pristine beaches.
Romantic Spa Day
Well, there’s really no shortage of fantastic hotels in Miami beach offering exceptional spa days, and it can certainly be difficult to choose.
My pick is for the Lapis Spa at the Fontainebleau on Miami Beach. The spa is spread over a huge 40,000 sq ft and has mineral pools, rain tunnels, eucaplyptus steam rooms and jet baths. As a day guest, you also receive access to the main swimming pool, the beach and the gym for the day.
Treatments per person start from around $100, but you can also book the ‘Paradise for Two’ package, which offers a couple’s massage in an oceanfront suite – wow!
Sunset cruise around Biscayne Bay
Is there anything more romantic than sailing across the azure waters of Biscayne Bay as the sun sets across Miami?
A sunset cruise is one of the most romantic things to do in Miami, and with complimentary wine, beer and canapés, there’s no better way to spend an evening.
Jump on board with Playtime Watersports Miami!
Adult-Only Pool Cabana at Loews Miami Beach
These poolside cabanas have a covered private seating area with two lounge chairs and a round daybed. There is even a safe!
The experience includes a dedicated concierge who’s on hand to help you with anything you need, including bottle service and full food and beverage service.
Kayak and Champagne Toast
For a slightly more unusual date idea in Miami, why not join this kayaking tour?
Departing from historic Collins Canal, where you might be able to spot herons, iguanas and of course, plenty of fish from your clear-bottom kayak. After a guided kayak tour, you’ll finish up on a stunning, uninhabited island near to Millionaire’s Row. Toast your date, and enjoy spectacular views across to Miami’s skyline.
Romantic date ideas in Miami
